Clinton is a farming and suburban town located in northern Kennebec County, 10 miles northeast of Waterville. It has one of the largest dairy herds in the state within its 44 square mile extent. It has a small commercial downtown, located about one mile from an interchange with I-95. The main line of the Springfield Terminal Railroad runs through town, as does the Sebasticook River. Population has been growing at about 2 percent per year.
