The Town of Fairfield, located in southern Somerset County, adjoins Waterville to the south and Skowhegan to the north. The town is bounded on the east by the Kennebec River. Located within the town are U.S. 201 and I-95, with two interchanges, as well as the main line and a spur of the Springfield Terminal. It contains a large commercial and residential urban area, which merges with Waterville's on the South, and two small commercial villages, Hinckley and Fairfield Center.
