The Town of Fayette in western Kennebec County is a rural and seasonal resort, with Echo Lake, Lovejoy Pond, Parker Pond, and at least eight smaller ponds within its 29 square miles. There are almost as many seasonal residences as year-round ones in the town, located 18 miles northwest of Augusta. There are no arterial roads and no significant village center.
