What is the General Assembly?

KVCOG is a municipal services corporation owned and operated by and for the benefit of its members. The General Assembly is the primary policy making body of the Council comprised of Official Representatives from each of our Member Communities.

Each community appoints two representatives, and these representatives are responsible for:

  • Adoption of the KVCOG Annual Budget and the Annual Membership Fee Schedule;
  • The adoption and amendment of KVCOG Bylaws;
  • The election of Officers and Directors;
  • The establishment of policy guidelines for the Board of Directors;
  • All powers vested in KVCOG by the laws of the State of Maine and the KVCOG Bylaws.

The Generally Assembly meets bi-annually in June and September to approve the annual KVCOG budget with any amendments, set the following year’s membership dues, vote on the Board of Director executive committee, and/or any other KVCOG Business.
