KVCOG provides financing assistance for start-ups, expansions and modernizations throughout the region. Funding for the agency’s lending, grant and technical assistance programs are secured through a mix of State and federal loan and grant programs and strategic partnerships. KVCOG offers direct loan programs through our Revolving Loan Funds (RLF). An RLF lends funds to those in need and uses principal and interest payments to finance new loans.

In addition to our direct loan programs, KVCOG can also provide assistance to businesses in accessing other local and State sources of financing.

NEW CARES Act Revolving Loan Fund (RLF)Business Loan Image

The CARES Act was passed in 2020 to reduce the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result of this measure, KVCOG has received an award of $670,000 through the U.S. Economic Development Administration (U.S. EDA) to encourage lending through a new RLF Fund. These funds come with very favorable terms, not typical of our regular RLF loans.

Terms

  • These loans are available to businesses located in Kennebec, Somerset, and western Waldo counties in Maine.
  • These loans have extremely flexible lending terms and very favorable interest rates, as low as 0%. Terms are determined on a case-by-case basis.
  • Technical assistance will be provided upon request.

Who Can Apply

These loans are intended to help start-up businesses as well as existing small to mid-sized businesses with growth, expansion, investment in equipment and facilities, or opportunities to pivot during the COVID-19 pandemic. If your business is in Kennebec, Somerset, or western Waldo county, KVCOG can help you navigate this program and identify other important resources.

How Funds Can Be Used
